POSITION：
As Procurement Director, you will play a crucial role in defining and leading global sourcing strategy, securing a competitive edge in international chemical distribution. Reporting to the COO you will integrate procurement with commercial priorities, enabling consistent global pricing, risk-resilient supplier partnerships, and optimized stock flows. By elevating procurement into a proactive value generator, you will directly influence profitability, customer responsiveness, and supply chain resilience.
The company is a remarkable entrepreneurial growth story, having scaled into a €2.4 billion player in a relatively short time. While the company continues to pursue ambitious growth, it also seeks to unlock efficiency gains in supply chain and procurement. With centralized procurement teams in Beijing (ca. 20 people) and India (ca. 2 people), there is a significant opportunity to streamline processes, build synergies, and adopt best practices.

This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for:

Success in this role will be measured by:

You will lead and develop an international procurement team in China and India, fostering capability, accountability, and collaboration across regions. By enforcing compliance with international regulations and leveraging digital tools and analytics, you will strengthen sourcing power and position procurement as a true strategic enabler of the company’s growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Procurement Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute a global sourcing strategy for chemicals, packaging materials, and services, ensuring alignment with the business objectives.
• Supplier Management & Partnerships: Develop a globally consistent supplier framework with clear segmentation, performance metrics, and long-term partnerships focused on innovation, reliability, and sustainability.
• Commercial Alignment: Ensure full alignment between purchasing strategies and commercial requirements across diverse product lines and regions.
• Cost Competitiveness & Risk Management: Secure supply continuity, manage volatility, and mitigate risks through proactive supplier qualification, market intelligence, and negotiation leverage.
• Operational Excellence: Optimize purchasing processes, drive cost-saving initiatives (e.g., consolidated buying, strategic sourcing), and improve inventory control and stock alignment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to global regulatory and safety requirements when sourcing chemical products.
• Data-Driven Procurement: Leverage analytics and market insights to enhance decision-making, improve forecasting, and strengthen procurement performance.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing international procurement organization, ensuring upskilling, accountability, and effective collaboration.
• Sustainability & ESG: Integrate sustainability metrics into supplier relationships, improving performance on ESG commitments and ensuring responsible sourcing.
Qualifications：
1. Education & Certification/license credentials: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
2. Functional competencies - skills, knowledge & experience：
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in global procurement, ideally within the chemical, industrial, or distribution sectors. Experience in commodity trading or bulk distribution are a plus.
• Proven track record in aligning procurement strategies with commercial objectives and driving organizational change.
• Deep expertise in international sourcing, supplier negotiations, and procurement process optimization. Experience in sourcing in Asia, with a focus on China
• Strong knowledge of procurement tools and analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, Coupa).
• Financial and commercial acumen with the ability to translate forecasts into actionable procurement strategies.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French) are a strong asset.
